Greetings from Salinas, Puerto Rico
Yes Whitewolf and I are aboard S/V Seabound with Captain Vec and first mate his black kitty, Smokey anchored in Salinas harbor, Puerto Rico. I feel I am home. I love laying on the deck at night gazing at the stars through the main mast rigging. From here Orion is very present with the dog star, Sirius, and the Pleiades. I love from our spacious aft cabin watching the water reflected in the open hatch window with the fluffy clouds above our heads. I love getting in the dingy to cruise to a delicious place to swim and snorkel with those familiar fish in our birthday suits as much as possible.

Water Experiences
Our first snorkel around the corner had us swimming with a “pet fish”. Whitewolf and I were adopted for the duration of our swim by a small silver dappled fish with bright yellow fins and tail. She would dart about as we pointed to a large red thick starfish or
Watched a small barracuda glide by or dive to get a closer look at a conch shell on the bottom. We sometimes swam holding hands and our pet fish would move between us as if to say “I like this”. Whitewolf looks so comfy in the water in his blue water shirt, snorkel and fins. And me? I am home.

Hopi Prophecy
Before we left Florida, we attended a showing of the Hopi elders at Sacred Lands which was filmed in 1986. The elders spoke of the earth changes that we are experiencing now…the extremes of temperature, the earthquakes, the tsunamis. We are in the transition period of I believe a galactic event in which the poles of the earth are shifting and will shift by winter solstice 2012. What spoke to my heart the most was the grandmother who said to balance we need to be kind, loving and compassionate. I believe all the lightworkers who are continuing to send love around the planet by meditations, or internet love linkups or gatherings are assisting this species to evolve to a new frequency and assisting our planet in her changes so they do not need to be so catastrophic. This is the time I believe to listen inside my heart to not be in fear of these events yet welcome them in love and go where I/we are directed.

Bocca Ciega Yacht Club
Whitewolf and I went to the monthly meeting of BCYC, the club that offers a sailing school that we will be students of in March and April. We were delighted at the fellowship, the humor, the programs that this club offers each other and the community of Gulfport. There is the sea scout program for the youth, the fun day event in April which gives the greater community an opportunity to sail, to play to meet the members, the work party days once a month to enhance the club grounds, the racing schedule, the genuine caring and sharing for new members and guests and of course the sailing school which when we graduate we will be able to take out one of 9 small sailing Catalinas the club has available to its members of which we are given a 3 month trial membership.
We are very thankful to have been guided to this club.

First Anniversary, January 17

Yes we made it a full official year. Whitewolf and I rented a car and found a lovely beachside motel called appropriately, The Schooner, just up the road from my folks in Madiera Beach, Florida. We smothered each other in white orchid leis, danced and lay on the beach, I ate my anniversary full Maine lobster, even ran into the frigid water to get the ocean mother blessing for another year of married life. We are continually amazed by each other. We are diving into another year of continued exploration of who we are together and apart. Where do we live? What do we create for financial abundance? How do we integrate our families? How do we experience more and more loving bliss and clear compassionate communication?

Elder and Dog care
I am delighted to relate that my Mom and I found a perfect caregiver for not only my folks but for the dogs. Denise is a perfect blend of qualities that is supporting my folks in living on their own. I am soooooo relieved that my mom , who was the driver,is allowing Denise to drive them to errand and doctors appointments. Rosie and Little Deer love Denise and her 13 year old dog, Gypsy who I hear is playing with that insistent rat terrier.
The dogs get to come with Denise to work so that my folks can cuddle, talk and watch their antics. Yes thankyou spirit for the guidance to have Denise in our family.

OK that’s all folks till next new moon. I am fulfilling my dream of being on the water. I wish the same for all of you. Big hugs and blessings,

Alicia Merlady

Florida Happy New Decade
May all of our dreams keep continuing to manifest. peace on earth, peace in our hearts, peace in our relationships. Yes i am here in Florida at my folks in St. Pete Beach in the metropolitan area of Tampa.
It is sooo wonderful to be surrounded by water, the amazing sunsets over the water, the ibis, the pelicans,
the sounds of the waves breaking onto the shore. I feel so at home by the sea. My heart is at peace.

Whitewolf and I brought in the new year at a dance in the Gulfport Casino ballroom in Florida, dancing to the sounds of a live band playing tunes form the 30;s up to the 90’s. We met some folks, blew some nosiemakers, dnaced our prayers for the new year and watched spendid fireworks over the Bay to welcome in the new decade.

Christmas in Florida
I came down on Dec 15th to decorate the artificial big leafed tree with lights and small ornaments i have collected for my folks thru the years. We have the wooden train, the Hawaiian lady, the clown doll, the rocking horse, the bear who when you push his paw plays jingle bells, the shiny colored balls and the white lighted angel on top of the tree. I made the family recipe handed down from my Italian departed aunt of clams, scallops and shrimp in garlic and butter sauce for Christmas eve, went to a midnight service where I got to sing O Holy Night, and ate Christmas dinner with my folks atop a spinning restaurant that had majestic views of Bocca Ciega Bay and the Gulf. Truly a blessed warm heartwarming day.

Dad’s 95th Birthday
Oh my yes i have great genes. My dad celebrated his 95th birthday with some family members at a fantastic buffet at the Wine Cellar on the beach. i ate my wat thur the celebration with spicy shrimp, smoked salmon, delicious primavera sauce, steamed brocoli, mashed potatoes with chocolate mouse and apple/strawberry strudel for desert. My stomach is rumbling for an encore. I delighted in decorating the apartment for him on December 28 with balloons, streamers, signs and lots of love.Dad told me with a sparkle in his eye that waking up to this party environment takes him back to being a young boy when his mom, dad and uncle would put up the Christmas tree with all its lights and presents on Christmas Eve so that he would come in on Christmas morning to delightful magic. How sweet is that?

I am so blessed to have both my parents feisty and independent. Their minds are sharp, their wills are strong thought their bodies are breaking down and slowing down considerably more than last year. I come from a line of adventurers and hearty folks from France, Hungary and Italy. I sang the song i wrote for my Dad a decade ago to him as he was washing his breakfast dish in the kitchen as i gently moved energy with my hand up and down his spine. The magic and love we shared when i was a child when he sang me to sleep at night is rekindling and growing. We are healing emotional wounds and enjoying the precious moments we have together. My mom and I are working together to find a caregiver, and the needed stuff like vacuum cleaners. We still spat occasionally yet we are hugging more. We are both hug therapists and do our best to hug each other at least 4 to 8 times a day. Did you know there are different kinds of hugs? hand hugs, stroking hugs, group hugs, and even long distance hugs as well as the full on melting hug. Try it you’ll like it.
My folks adore the little dogs. It is so heartwarming to see my Dad and Rosie Snoodles and Fernando Little Deer( his pet names for them) snoozing together on dad’s chair. My mom loves to stroke Little Deer as she sits in her chair and talk to him as she wanders on her walker about the place. These little beings with great spirits have added much joy and life around this place.

Events Florida
I’ve been to the peace meditations around a fire at Sacred Lands as well as the coffeehouse there reminiscent of my time playing in the 70″s and went to the local “hippie” art and music gathering called the bluberry patch with some of the folks from sacred lands events http:// There are great folks here that i have continued friendships with and so blessed to have folks to play music with, get massages, and laugh with.

May we all continue to grow, laugh, spread the joy of life through our compassion, love and kindness through the year. Blessings, Alicia Merlady

Sister Time
Oh my what would I do without my sisters? Mirael and Mary in Mt Shasta remind me to be gentle with myself, to be gentle with be myself..playing, dancing, singing .doing crafts, praying in ceremony, hanging out..and we listen to each others lives, we listen to each others hearts.I realize how important that is to me. At Jini’s house the sisters make bath salts, hang out and eat great the new neighbor’s at spring valley Nancy partying and meeting on the road to give carrots and apples to the horses. As I receive and give, share and care, with the ladies I am finding myself giving and receiving more from myself..becoming calmer, happier, more peaceful..
scientists say when sisters hang out we create seretonin for each other. OK

Giving Thanks
Another season of remembrance to give thanks for every breath, every day, every moment. Wonderful early Thanksgiving at Jinis with lots of laughs, sharings meeting new folks, even our new holistic vet ..and of course yummy delectable foods.. brought my tart cranberry walnut sauce which joined many other sauces of delightful taste bud yumminess.. and the “real day” I committed to another year starting my day with a prayer of thankfulness to remind myself of the glass full and overflowing, yes.

Ever heard of Cavalia? I didn’t until my dear sister Melissa is looking for a buddy to celebrate her birthday with a trip to this amazing horse show in the bay area bounced off of the Cirque de Soleil and at liberty horse interaction..How could I resist?.Melissa provide dressup with masks, shiny sparkling scarves, fancy skirts and velvet capes and hats .the show was my fondest dreams. I saw myself on the, white stallion in magnificent white sparkly medieval costumes riding bareback riding gently …racing while doing daring tricks, spinning in the air in fantisiful costumes on a flywire interacting with gorgeous handsome long haired men aback gorgeous white stallions…enough to make anyone swoon. my mouth was open and my eyes were moist as the many scenes unfolded.. the beginning with a projection on the curtain of the birthing of a horse…the young 6 month foals who open the show amongst statues of horses..the herd of horses at liberty running and prancing around the stage interacting with the lovely diana like horsewoman..Ok i could go on and on..if you want more go check out their web site
my heart is still full with the beauty grace and love of this show..I would recommend it.

Rosie and Little Deer

I so love having the dog energy and spirit in my life. I get outside in nature at least twice a day and get to interact on a daily, hourly, minutely ,way with another species beside homo sapien. Getting myself re outfitted with dog stuff, water dishes, toys, blankets,
crates, treats….I went a little overboard..hmmm well this is dog number 8 and 9.
Trying new dog methods..and they work…healing kennel cough and giardia .. establishing a relationship with the holistic vet.
to vaccinate or not to vaccinate. tests for worms…..seeing dog insurance on the form I fill out…hmmm what, dog insurance?

As the dogs get more comfortable their personalities are emerging. Rosie is a fireball. She is in constant motion unless sleeping. She like to chomp on Little Dear’s leg to get his attention to play with he. Rosie loves to play. Pulling out of the basket her stuffed bunny and monkey and seal is one of her favorite pastimes. Little Deer is the more quiet couch potato type or should i say lap potato type although he loves to run next to the bike. As he eats better his coat is acquiring a beautiful fawn color. The dogs are growing on us both.

May all your days be full of grace, ease and thankfulness.

Blessings, Alicia merlady
